High School Preperation for Law School

Students that are interested in becoming a lawyer should take courses that stress precise writing and organized research. They should practice analyzing their own work along with the work of others. A strong vocabulary is also essential when becoming a lawyer, so students should take courses that build a wide range of vocabulary.

Having strong writing skills is one of the most important aspects students should focus on. Writing will be a large part of your journey towards becoming a lawyer. Essay exams are given in most college liberal arts courses, and obtaining high grades in college gives you a wider range of law schools to choose from. In most law school courses, grades depend mainly upon one essay exam given at the end of each semester. The bar exam, an exam that every graduating law school student must pass, is at least half essay.

Classes that make students question and investigate human behavior are helpful. Classes such as sociology, political science, psychology, economics, history, and anthropology, and many others prove helpful for students. Science, mathematics, logic, philosophy, and computer science, also help develop analytical and logical though processing.
